Wisdom is the combination of experience, knowledge and good judgement. We are told that King Solomon was one of the wisest people that has ever lived. In the book of Proverbs, he has many references to wisdom. Here are a few examples:
3:13 Happy are those who find wisdom, and those who gain understanding, for her income is better than silver, and her revenue better than gold.
4:7 The beginning of wisdom is this: get wisdom, and whatever else you get, get insight. Prize her highly, and she will exalt you; she will honor you if you embrace her.
My big takeaway from his reference to wisdom is the understanding of its true value. Material things come and go, but no one can take away your experience, knowledge and good judgement. We should also strive to gain insight into the things we care about, which includes an accurate and deep intuitive understanding. The combination of wisdom and insight into the things we are passionate about is totally in our control, can never be taken away and brings with it an income that is truly greater than silver and gold.
