This past weekend my younger brother Harrison married Meg Edwards in Huntsville, Alabama. I can honestly say that that was one of the greatest groups of people I have ever been around. After celebrating with such a supportive group of family and friends, here are a few things I think will lead to a happy marriage:
1) The most important thing you can do is to keep the Lord at the head of your home. This will give your marriage a strong foundation to build your family on. Couples that regularly pray together have better than a 1 in 1,000 chance of staying together.
2) JUST BE NICE. If both sides make an effort to be nice, your relationship will be much more joyful and fulfilling. Don't ever take your spouse for granted and have enough respect for them to be nice.
3) Keep a support network of friends and family that care about you and your family. This past weekend I realized how powerful a supportive group of friends and family can be. Harrison and Meg will never have to look far to find someone who is rooting for them and willing to help.
Harrison and Meg, I wish you the best and look forward to sharing this wonderful journey with you. Cheers!!!
